Those jeans are WAY too tight!

So I got some good news.  My weight loss clinic told me they wanted to spotlight me in the newsletter next month and there online website.  They spotlight someone every month who is at goal or close to it.  Its always fun to read about them and see how inspiring they can be....I am a little dumbfounded that is me...I mean I know I have done well losing weight but I don't feel like inspiration to others....very weird feeling.
I also wasn't sure I wanted to be "out"  being on there website and newsletter is pretty public and anyone can read it..in fact I will give you all the link when it comes out.
And on a disappointing note.....
I showed my mom my before and after pic(of me in my size 10 jeans) and the first thing out of her mouth  "oh..those jeans are way too tight"  I guess I keep hoping my mom will become a great supporter..but she just hasn't been.  She is quick to point out my flaws and not quick to give a compliment.  She always has to tell me how she would never do the lapband, she enjoys food too much.  I just shake my head because that is exactly when you know you have a food addiction...your overweight and don't want to give up eating.  It makes me a little sad..no it makes me a lot sad because she is carrying a lot of weight and that is not good for a 62 year old woman.  Still love her though.
I am excited for weigh in I have dropped into the 170's and that is spectacular!

our moms sound a lot alike. My mom doesn't know I have a band but went to a seminar once and has talked about how horrible it is.

Those jeans are NOT way too tight. You look fabulous.

Congrats on the feature!! I can't wait to read it!!!!

That's so exciting that they picked you!

I just went back and looked at the picture again. Nope, not too tight. No muffin top, nothing. Maybe because they are FITTED and she is used to seeing you in baggy clothes? Or it was just a callous remark? But honestly, they look great!!!

It doesn't surprise me at all that they picked you! You ARE an inspiration to so many - including me. Ah - moms. Why - just why - can't they say exactly what we need to hear - just once??

Really hard not to have support from our parents. I feel my weight loss has come between me and my dad. Hugs! You are an inspiration, BTW, to me and many others! Enjoy the attention...you deserve it!

Hugs to you. I can't imagine how hard it would be to do the whole WLS thing without support from my family! I think you're rockin' it, though!

What an honor, and how exciting! I can't wait to see the article - and I certainly think they picked the right person - we all know you are da bomb!

My mother-in-law pulled that crap with me talking up like I wasn't there how she would NEVER have surgery and how much she likes food, etc. A few months later, her cardiologist recommended she have WLS. She had it last October and has lost 60 pounds. I'm so glad she is getting healthier!

Sounds like your mama is just a little jealous, babe. Don't worry about it! I thought they looked good. :)

I agree that your mom sounds like she may be a bit jealous. Plus, a lot of older people (like my mom, for instance) don't like the current fashion of tight-fitting jeans. My mom is always asking my nieces if they can breathe, but she knows better than to do that to me. ;) I thought the jeans looked just right on you.

Congratulations on being spotlighted!
