So I got a bit of bad news on my EGD. Apparently I am really stressed...so much so that I have an extreme amount of acid in my stomach and esophogus and it is irritating my band. So my doc says no fill for 8 weeks and I have to take some medecine to reduce the acid...ughh...I almost cried. But I guess that I need to go to therapy even more to work thru my stress. In fact, she is having me read this book that is called
How to heal your life by Louise Hays
Funny...this book suggests that every ailment you have is caused by you...even to the fact that built up resentments can cause Cancer....I am not done with the book yet...its a quick read and I am not sure I agree with everything she says..but she does make some interesting points. And we all know that my stressful life right now is the cause of my band irritation. I am going to therapy twice a week..and doing my homework..hopefully I can right myself and get myself back on track.
Johnny and I had a blast this weekend. He got a haircut
and he road his go-kart around the yard
Which I admit..scared the crap out me..I still can't believe my parents bought him this thing..but he loves it and we supervise him while he is out there....of course, now he wants a dirt bike!
So today I packed my breakfast(oatmeal) and lunch(taco salad) and my workout clothes to hit the gym tonight. Hopefully I can stay pretty close on track and not gain to much...but I will admit I know I will gain. I am just eating A LOT more than I used to and will be for 8 more weeks.
Hope you all had a fabulous weekend

Don't feel bad if you are hungrier more often it's a temp circumstance and not a failing on your part. My (unsolicited) advice is to go Protein crazy. If you are super hungry and need to pig out on something go wild on protein -- eat that giant grilled chicken or big piece of steak. It may be more calories than you would normally want to consume but it's good quality calories that will be good for you in the long run.
I love his haircut - those spikes are awesome!
Good luck on the next 8 weeks. I think focusing on your stress level and trying to work through that can bring nothing but good things for you. That book also sounds interesting (though of course I don't think people are responsible for giving themselves cancer!) and I hope you take away some good stuff.
His haircut is cool, and I love that he never seems to just stand there and smile in a picture but lets his personality come through!
I'm sorry about your band, but it'll be a personal challenge to maintain. A true test of your strength. Take it 1 day at a time & you'll do great!
That kid is awesome - his personality shines in his smile.
I think you can do this! But healing your esophogus is definitely the most important thing. I think A.J.'s advice is good. Lots of protein!
The week I had of total unfil was pure hell/bliss all at the same time. I was able to eat foods that I hadn't in a while and that was wonderful, but I also felt starved most of the time. I found that exercise and coffee were my staples to keep me from losing my mind during that week. I realize 1 week does not equal 8 in your situation, but on a positive note, I did lose a small amount that week. I think you can maintain, just try not to beat yourself up and if you make poor food choices, exercise a little harder :) You will be okay. 8 weeks is a short amount of time in the span of the rest of your life!
I'm sorry your stress is so high that it's having that much of an effect! It is a drag, but it's good that you have a plan for how to deal with it, and that your expectations are realistic.
Super-cute photos!
What a cute kid! Sounds like that author has some interesting views.
Oh man, 8 weeks IS a lot longer than you thought. Good news though because it sounds like the "plan" in place (reduce acid, work on stress, etc.) are all GOOD things. Please tell us more about the book when you are done reading it. I have a highly sensitive child and years ago someone recommended I read a book about it. It was written by someone who was highly sensitive themselves and therefore all the advice was basically arrange the world according to this child. NOT! So while I didn't agree with the book there were some nuggets of wisdom in there. She is now about to turn 11, and I'm definitely glad I didn't "create a bubble" around her!
Cute pics of you and your son...that is crazy fun about the new "toy"! I wanna ride it too! :)
I have that book! Love how colorful it is. So sorry about the fill news....but glad nothing worse is wrong!
Love the pictures!
Jenn, anyone not a robot would be feeling stress in your situation. I hope the meds help, as well as the book, therapy, etc. Just don't let it make you feel guilty like it is "your fault" you are stressed, you know? I hope it gives good, useful strategies and support for coping.
Did they give you protonix?? that stuff is amazing!!!
I heart johnny! He is the cutest.
So proud of how you are dealing with all this. You really are strong and a well balanced person. You are a great mom to your boy. Gaining a few pounds, in the grand scheme of things, really won't matter and will fall right off when you get re-filled. You made this change for life and your son...so proud of you!
That sucks about you unfill, but this is what I know...that band did not do all the hard work, it just helped you some...YOU did the work. I know that you will do fine and 8 weeks will go by before ya know it :)
I have her inspiration cards. I can imagine the book is a bit out there but its all about being kind to yourself. Im glad you are putting you 1st and your lovely little boy will thank you for it one day. Enjoy the 8 weeks off and give your body a break and have some fun... go carting perhaps? xo
How ya doing? Sending you hugs :)
Thinking about you and missing you. xo
